Petersburg Fish and Game Advisory Committee Meeting & Elections Wednesday December 13th, 2023 at 6:30 pm *UPDATED 12/6/2023*

The Petersburg Fish and Game Advisory Committee will meet and hold elections on Wednesday, December 13th, 2023 at 6:30 pm at the OBI Seafoods Cookhouse located at 411 North Nordic Drive. This meeting is open to the public.

*ZOOM UPDATE: Unfortunately, the venue is unable to accommodate the use of Zoom and joining by web/teleconference will not be available. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

To be eligible to make nominations or vote in an election of a Fish & Game Advisory Committee, you must be a voting-age resident of the area served by the committee as defined in 5 AAC 96.910(10) and attending the election meeting. The areas served by the Petersburg Fish and Game Advisory Committee as defined in 5 AAC 97.005 are Game Management Units 1B, 1C, 2, 3, and 4 and Southeastern Alaska Area finfish and Southeastern Alaska-Yakutat Area shellfish.   • Elections for 5 expired seats

  • Officer Elections

  • Statewide Hatchery Proposal 59

Advisory committees are local groups that meet to discuss fishing and wildlife issues and to provide recommendations to Alaska Board of Fisheries and Alaska Board of Game. All meetings are open to the public. Advisory Committees are intended to provide a local forum on fish and wildlife issues. Their purpose includes: 1) developing regulatory proposals, 2) evaluating regulatory proposals and making recommendations to the appropriate board, 3) providing a local forum for fish and wildlife conservation and use, including matters relating to habitat, and 4) cooperating and consulting with interested persons and organizations, including government agencies, and encourage youth and elder involvement in committee activities.
