The Grayling Anvik Shageluk Holy Cross Fish and Game Advisory Committee will meet and hold elections on Monday, April 17th, 2023 in Shageluk at the Shageluk City Council building and by web/teleconference. This meeting is open to the public.

To be eligible to make nominations or vote in an election of a Fish & Game Advisory Committee, you must be a voting-age resident of the area served by the committee as defined in 5 AAC 96.910(10) and attending the election meeting by web/teleconference. The areas served by the Grayling Anvik Shageluk Holy Cross Fish and Game Advisory Committee as defined in 5 AAC 97.005 are Game Management Unit 221 and the Upper & Lower Yukon River. Agenda items will include the following:

• Elections for Shageluk designated seats (2) and undesignated seats (1)

• Moose harvest and survey updates, discuss potential changes to season and subunit boundaries, and IM renewal in 21E

• Discuss 2023-2024 Board of Game Call for Proposals and proposals the GASH AC intends to submit (deadline is May 1st, 2023)
  

• Discuss 2023-2024 Joint Board Call for Proposals and any proposals the GASH AC intends to submit (deadline is May 1st, 2023)

• Other fisheries and wildlife business as needed

Advisory committees are local groups that meet to discuss fishing and wildlife issues and to provide recommendations to Alaska Board of Fisheries and Alaska Board of Game. All meetings are open to the public. Advisory Committees are intended to provide a local forum on fish and wildlife issues. Their purpose includes: 1) developing regulatory proposals, 2) evaluating regulatory proposals and making recommendations to the appropriate board, 3) providing a local forum for fish and wildlife conservation and use, including matters relating to habitat, and 4) cooperating and consulting with interested persons and organizations, including government agencies, and encourage youth and elder involvement in committee activities.
