Middle Yukon River Fish & Game Advisory Committee Election Meeting - January 10th, 2023 at 12:00 pm

The Middle Yukon Fish and Game Advisory Committee will meet and hold elections in Nulato on Tuesday, January 10th, 2023 at 12:00 pm  at the Nulato Tribal Council Office and by web/teleconference. This meeting is open to the public.

Voting will be held in person. If you wish to participate in this election remotely/cannot attend the meeting in person, please contact the regional coordinator a minimum of 24 hours prior to the election meeting.

To be eligible to make nominations or vote in an election of a Fish & Game Advisory Committee, you must be a voting-age resident of the area served by the committee as defined in 5 AAC 96.910(10) and attending the election meeting. The area of jurisdiction for the Middle Yukon River Fish & Game Advisory Committee as identified in 5 AAC 97.005 is GMU 21 and the Upper Yukon River.

Agenda items will include the following:

  • Moose and wildlife updates

  • Yukon area fisheries updates

  • Elections for (3) Nulato designated seats & others as determined by the committee

  • Board of Fisheries Proposals

  • Antlerless Moose & Brown Bear Tag Fee Reauthorizations

  • 2023-2024 Board of Game Call for Proposals (due May 1st, 2023)

  • Discuss future meeting schedule and select representative(s) for Board meeting(s)

  • Other fisheries and wildlife business as needed

Advisory committees are local groups that meet to discuss fishing and wildlife issues and to provide recommendations to Alaska Board of Fisheries and Alaska Board of Game. All meetings are open to the public. Advisory Committees are intended to provide a local forum on fish and wildlife issues. Their purpose includes: 1) developing regulatory proposals, 2) evaluating regulatory proposals and making recommendations to the appropriate board, 3) providing a local forum for fish and wildlife conservation and use, including matters relating to habitat, and 4) cooperating and consulting with interested persons and organizations, including government agencies, and encourage youth and elder involvement in committee activities.
