FAST Area Surface Upgrades FFY2023

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is soliciting comments on the proposed improvements to the following areas:
- 2nd Avenue Dog Park: Reestablish drainage, pave existing driveway and parking area, repair or replace damaged bicycle/pedestrian path, replace curb and gutter, and clear vegetation.
- Aztec Subdivision
- Mill existing asphalt and repave the following roads: Aztec Road, Copper Street, Ione Street, Shoshone Drive, Vicki Lane, Charlotte Road, Glenn Street, Choctaw Road, and Pueblo Street (North).
- Pave the following roads: Pueblo Street (South), Marsh Laurel Avenue, and Tamarack Woods Drive
We are currently working on conceptual designs, engineering, and environmental studies. Construction is currently planned for summer 2023.
DOT&PF requests information and comments on resources in the project area that may be affected including historic properties and archaeological sites.
The project is being developed in accordance with the following Executive Orders (EO):

EO 13112, as amended by EO 13751, Invasive Species

Comments may be submitted until September 30, 2022
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by the Alaska DOT&PF pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated November 3, 2017 and executed by the FHWA and DOT&PF.
