The Delta Fish and Game Advisory Committee will meet and hold elections on Wednesday, May 18th, 2022 at 6:30 pm at the Delta Junction City Hall located at 2288 Deborah St, Delta Junction, AK 99737 and by web/teleconference. Participation in the election will be in-person only. This meeting is open to the public.
Agenda items include the following:
- Elections for 4 seats set to expire June 30th, 2022
- Other fisheries and wildlife business as needed
Any individual who is representative of the fish and game user groups in the area served by the committee is eligible to run for a seat or be nominated. Individuals may nominate themselves. An individual need not be present at the election meeting to be nominated or to be elected, however, all re-elected and newly elected members must submit a New Member Form to Boards Support Section within 30 days of the election.
To be eligible to make nominations or vote in an election of a Fish & Game Advisory Committee, you must be a voting-age resident of the area served by the committee as defined in 5 AAC 96.910(10) and attending the election meeting. The areas served by the Delta Fish and Game Advisory Committee as defined in 5 AAC 97.005 are Game Management Units 12, 20, and the Tanana River. Advisory committees are local groups that meet to discuss fishing and wildlife issues and to provide recommendations to Alaska Board of Fisheries and Alaska Board of Game. All meetings are open to the public. Advisory Committees are intended to provide a local forum on fish and wildlife issues. Their purpose includes: 1) developing regulatory proposals, 2) evaluating regulatory proposals and making recommendations to the appropriate board, 3) providing a local forum for fish and wildlife conservation and use, including matters relating to habitat, 4) advising the appropriate regional council on resources, and 5) consulting with individuals, organizations, and agencies.
