The McGrath Fish and Game Advisory Committee will meet and hold elections on Friday, December 10th, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the McGrath Native Village Council Community Center and by web/teleconference. This meeting is open to the public.
Due to the COVID-19 health emergency, this meeting will be accessible by phone or web.
If you plan to attend this meeting in person, please follow the guidance from the State of Alaska's Health Advisory 1: Recommendations for Keeping Alaskans Safe:
• Wear a cloth face covering/mask when in public settings.
• Practice social distancing.
• Monitor your health and stay at home when sick.
• Practice good hygiene and frequently wash your hands.
Agenda items will include the following:
- Wildlife updates
- Discussion of selected Board of Game proposals (attached, including ACR 4/Proposal 267)
- Elections & Officer Elections
- Other fisheries and wildlife issues as needed

Nominations will be called for by the Chair and elections will be conducted via roll-call style vote to allow remote participants an equal opportunity to vote. If the number of nominations do not exceed the number of seats up for election, nominees will be seated without voting. Immediately following the election, newly elected or re-elected members will be seated and members will hold Officer Elections for the roles of Chair, Vice-Chair, and Secretary.
To be eligible to make nominations or vote in an election of a Fish & Game Advisory Committee, you must be a voting-age resident of the area served by the committee as defined in 5 AAC 96.910(10) and attending the election meeting. The areas served by the McGrath Fish and Game Advisory Committee as defined in 5 AAC 97.005 are Game Management Unit 19 and the Kuskokwim River. Advisory committees are local groups that meet to discuss fishing and wildlife issues and to provide recommendations to Alaska Board of Fisheries and Alaska Board of Game. All meetings are open to the public. Advisory Committees are intended to provide a local forum on fish and wildlife issues. Their purpose includes: 1) developing regulatory proposals, 2) evaluating regulatory proposals and making recommendations to the appropriate board, 3) providing a local forum for fish and wildlife conservation and use, including matters relating to habitat, 4) advising the appropriate regional council on resources, and 5) consulting with individuals, organizations, and agencies.
