The Fairbanks Fish and Game Advisory Committee will meet and hold hybrid virtual/in-person elections on Wednesday, November 10th, 2021 at 6:30 pm at the Pioneer Park Exhibit Hall located at 2300 Airport Way.
This meeting and election is open to the public. Please review the Frequently Asked Questions about Virtual and Hybrid Elections attached to this meeting notice for more information about the elections process.
Due to the COVID-19 health emergency, virtual participation is encouraged.
If you plan to attend this meeting in person, please follow the guidance from the State of Alaska's Health Advisory 1: Recommendations for Keeping Alaskans Safe:
• Wear a cloth face covering/mask when in public settings.
• Practice social distancing.
• Monitor your health and stay at home when sick.
• Practice good hygiene and frequently wash your hands.

There are ten seats up for election on the Fairbanks Advisory Committee. Nominations will be called for at the start of the meeting.
To be eligible to make nominations or vote in an election of a Fish & Game Advisory Committee, you must be a voting-age resident of the area served by the committee as defined in 5 AAC 96.910(10) and attending the election meeting. The areas served by the Fairbanks Fish and Game Advisory Committee as defined in 5 AAC 97.005 are Game Management Units 12, 20, 21, 24, 25, and 26 and the Tanana River. Advisory committees are local groups that meet to discuss fishing and wildlife issues and to provide recommendations to Alaska Board of Fisheries and Alaska Board of Game. All meetings are open to the public. Advisory Committees are intended to provide a local forum on fish and wildlife issues. Their purpose includes: 1) developing regulatory proposals, 2) evaluating regulatory proposals and making recommendations to the appropriate board, 3) providing a local forum for fish and wildlife conservation and use, including matters relating to habitat, 4) advising the appropriate regional council on resources, and 5) consulting with individuals, organizations, and agencies.
