The Kenai/Soldotna Fish and Game Advisory Committee will be holding a public meeting via teleconference on Tuesday, July 14, at 8pm.  To participate in the teleconference please call 1-800-504-8071. When prompted, enter Access Code 2672354 followed by #.

The agenda for this special meeting will consider requesting a emergency closure of king salmon fishing in the Kenai River.  A complete closure of sport, commercial, subsistence, and personal use fishing on Kenai River stocks throughout their range would include the marine waters which may include the presence of Kenai River bound stocks. This closure should remain in effect until ADFG determines that the minimum OEG shall be met, or August 31, 2020.

Advisory committees are local groups that meet to discuss fishing and wildlife issues and to provide recommendations to Alaska Board of Fisheries and Alaska Board of Game. All meetings are open to the public. Advisory Committees are intended to provide a local forum on fish and wildlife issues. Their purpose includes: 1) developing regulatory proposals, 2) evaluating regulatory proposals and making recommendations to the appropriate board, 3) providing a local forum for fish and wildlife conservation and use, including matters relating to habitat, 4) advising the appropriate regional council on resources, and 5) consulting with individuals, organizations, and agencies.
