Notice of Utility Tariff Filing
The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that Alaska Waste - Interior, LLC d/b/a Alaska Waste (AWI), filed TA115-667, a revenue requirement, cost of service, and rate design study, for its residential service, based on a 2018 test year. With this filing, AWI is proposing permanent rate changes, subsidized by Alaska Waste Mat-Su and Waste Connections of Alaska, based on the outcome of the included cost of service/rate design study. Should the subsidization not be approved, AWI will request a 38.37 percent increase to revenues. AWI is proposing no interim rate change. In addition, AWI proposes the following changes to its tariff:
- Remove Martin Luther King Day, President’s Day, and the day after Thanksgiving Day as holidays observed by the utility;
- To change the minimum level of service for dumpster service and roll off containers from once a week to once a month; and,
- To limit the amount of time that credit will be given for the suspension of service due to vacation to not exceed 2 months.

With TA115-667, AWI filed a request for waiver of the requirements of 3 AAC 48.275(a)(8), 3 AAC 48.275(a)(9), 3 AAC 48.275(a)(11), 3 AAC 48.275(a)(12), and 3 AAC 48.275(a)(13), requiring pro forma schedules of provision for income taxes, computation of rate base using a 13-month average, cash working capital, computation of weighted cost of capital, and a schedule of long-term debt, respectively.
