NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO ACQUIRE CONTROLLING INTEREST
The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that on October 25, 2019, BHT Investments, LLC (BHT Investments) and William D. DeVore (collectively, the Applicants) filed a joint application for BHT Investments to acquire 100 percent controlling interest in Bush-Tell, Inc. (Bush-Tell). Bush-Tell holds Certificates of Public Convenience and Necessity No. 99 and 561, authorizing the provision of local exchange and private pay telephone services in Aniak, Anvik, Crooked Creek, Grayling, Holy Cross, Kalskag, Red Devil, Shageluk, Sleetmute, and Stony River, Alaska. Docket No. U-19-097 was opened to address this matter.
BHT Investments states there will be no management or personnel changes as a result of the transaction, and the acquisition will have no impact on Bush-Tell’s current rates, terms, or services.
In conjunction with its application, the Applicants filed a petition for confidential treatment of BHT Investments’ Audited Combined Financial Statements with Supplemental Information, and Bush-Tell’s employee names and compensation and benefit information contained in the Stock Purchase Agreement.
The Commission has not assessed the completeness of the application or ruled on the petition for confidential treatment. The Commission will rule on the petition for confidential treatment and determine whether the application is complete after the close of the public comment period.
