The Department of Natural Resources proposes to adopt regulation changes in Title 11 of the Alaska Administrative Code, dealing with using or discharging firearms in a small portion of the Hatcher Pass Special Use Area.
Specifically, 11 AAC 96.014(b)(3)(E) is proposed to be amended to allow the use or discharge of firearms in a possible biathlon range within a portion of the Southern Development Area of the Government Peak Unit of the Hatcher Pass Management Plan as depicted on the map entitled
Hatcher Pass Management Plan, Government Peak Unit, Southern Development Area, Biathlon Range Area.
You may comment on the proposed regulation changes, including the potential costs to private persons of complying with the proposed changes, by submitting written comments to the Division of Mining, Land and Water, 550 W. 7th Avenue, Suite 1070, Anchorage, AK 99501-3579 or by e-mail to dnr.hatcherpass.regulation@alaska.gov or by fax to 907-269-8904. The comments must be received by the department no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 15, 2019.
