Notice of Adopted Changes to the Regulations of the Board of Certified Direct-Entry Midwives

On June 5, 2019, the Board of Certified Direct-Entry Midwives adopted regulation changes in Title 12, Chapter 14 of the Alaska Administrative Code.  The regulations concern the course of study requirements for certification as a direct-entry midwife by eliminating detailed subject matter descriptions and condensing approved courses to courses approved by the Midwifery Education Accreditation Council (MEAC) or the U.S. Department of Education.

The regulation changes were reviewed and approved by the Department of Law, signed and filed by the Lieutenant Governor on August 30, 2019, and will go into effect on September 29, 2019.  See attached copy of the filed version of the regulations.

The new regulation changes will be printed in Regis
