Notice of Utility Tariff Filing
The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that Matanuska Electric Association, Inc. (MEA) TA502-18, proposing revisions to its rules regarding electrical outage reporting requirements. On November 22, 2017, revised regulations regarding outage reporting, adopted in Order No. R-15-004(6), became effective. With TA502-18, MEA proposes to update its tariff to conform with these regulations. Specifically, MEA proposes to update the phone number customers may call to report an outage, add that outages may be reported via MEA’s website, and make minor housekeeping revisions to conform with the recently enacted regulations. In addition, MEA proposes to update its tariff to reflect that outages affecting five percent or more of its customers for more than thirty minutes must be reported to the Commission within five business days.
