Haida Corporation

Subject to AS 38.05.070(f), the Southeast Regional Land Office issued decision for the following:

APPLICANT: Haida Corporation

PROJECT NAME: ADL 105910

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION:Tide and submerged lands in West Arm Cholmondeley Sound, Prince of Wales Island

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Tracts A and B, Alaska Tideland Survey No. 1501 within the Copper River Meridian, Township 76 South, Range 86 East, Section 30, and Township 76 South, Range 85 East, Section 25, containing 27.5 acres, more or less, according to the survey plat filed in the Ketchikan Recording District on January 10, 1996 as Plat 96-2.
        
ACTION:  The Southeast Regional Land Office issued a decision to extend lease ADL 105910 to June 30, 2018. The lease authorized use of state land for marine log storage and transfer facilities from July 1, 1996 to June 30, 2016. The the Southeast Regional Land Office found that it is in the best interest of the state to extend the lease for two years after consideration of the following:

(1) The submission of an application to renew the lease was timely;and
(2) An extension is necessary to prolong authorization while the renewal application is considered.

During the extended period, Haida Corporation may continue land use subject to the terms and conditions as outlined by the lease.

DATES OF EXTENSION:  July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2018

A person affected by this decision may appeal it in accordance with 11 AAC 02. Any appeal must be received within 20 calendar days after the date of “issuance” of this decision, as defined in 11 AAC 02.040(c) and (d) and may be mailed or delivered to the Commissioner, Department of Natural Resources, 550 W. 7th Avenue, Suite 1400, Anchorage, Alaska 99501; faxed to (907) 269-8918, or sent by e-mail to dnr.appeals@alaska.gov.  If no appeal is filed by the appeal deadline, this decision becomes a final administrative order and decision of the department on the 31st calendar day after issuance.  An eligible person must first appeal this decision in accordance with 11 AAC 02 before appealing this decision to the Superior Court.  A copy of 11 AAC 02 may be obtained from any regional information office of the Department of Natural Resources.

The Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mining, Land and Water reserves the right to waive technical defects in this notice.
