Draft Authorization to Discharge Under a General Permit – Public Notice Period:

Proposed Project and Location:
The Kasigluk Traditional Council owns and operates a three-cell lagoon that discharges domestic wastewater at a rate of 4,940 gallons per day continuously to the Johnson River near the Old Kasigluk at 60.901911 o N and longitude 162.514357o W.
DEC is proposing to authorize a mixing zone for fecal coliform bacteria. The mixing zone size is defined as the area within the rectangle four feet long by seven feet wide, downstream of the outfall.

Tentative Determination:
The ADEC has tentatively determined to issue an authorization to discharge under a general permit to the above listed applicant.

Public Comments:
Written comments on the proposed authorization to discharge under an APDES general permit must be submitted within 30 days of the issuance of this public notice. Please direct written comments to the attention of Mike Martz at the address or email identified above. All comments should include the name, address, and telephone number of the commenter and a concise statement of comment on the permit condition(s) and the relevant facts upon which the comment is based. Comments of either support or concern which are directed at specific, cited permit requirements are appreciated. Mailed comments must be postmarked on or before the expiration date of the public notice.
