The Central Bering Sea Fish and Game Advisory Committee will be holding a public meeting in Bethel in the Fish and Game Office on Tuesday, October 25-26, 2016 at 1:00 PM. If you wish to participate but cannot do so in person call 1-800-504-8071 code 442-1717 in order to participate in the teleconference.
Agenda items will include the following items;
Fisheries
- Proposal 244: Align sport crab fishery regulations and repeal methods and means and general provisions for shellfish for the Kuskokwim-Goodnews and Yukon areas.
- Proposal 275: Tier II subsistence salmon fishing permits
- Proposal 276: Regulate king salmon subsistence during times of low King salmon abundance
Game
- Proposal 21: Open a winter hunting season for moose in Unit 18
- Proposal 22: Open a winter hunting season for moose in Unit 18 remainder
- Proposal 23: Reauthorize the antlerless moose hunting seasons in Remainder of Unit 18
- Proposal 24: Allow the harvest of brown bear at bear bait stations in Unit 18
- Proposal 25: Open a nonresident draw hunt for caribou in Units 18 and 19

Advisory committees are local groups that meet to discuss fishing and wildlife issues and to provide recommendations to Alaska Board of Fisheries and Alaska Board of Game. All meetings are open to the public. Advisory Committees are intended to provide a local forum on fish and wildlife issues. Their purpose includes: 1) developing regulatory proposals, 2) evaluating regulatory proposals and making recommendations to the appropriate board, 3) providing a local forum for fish and wildlife conservation and use, including matters relating to habitat, 4) advising the appropriate regional council on resources, and 5) consulting with individuals, organizations, and agencies.
