Request for Public Comments on the Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives, Former Ruby Headstart Building, Village of Ruby, Alaska

The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is accepting public comments on the Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives for the Former Ruby Headstart Building. The Headstart Building is located between Good Time Road and Airport Road, in Ruby, Alaska. DEC proposes to excavate contaminated soil at the site so that the site can be safely reused.

Copies of the Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives and the report detailing the environmental investigations done at the site to date are available for public review at the following locations:

To provide comments on the Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives, write to the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation, Division of Spill Prevention and Response, Contaminated Sites Program, at 610 University Avenue, Fairbanks, AK 99709. Please send comments to the attention of Robert Burgess. Comments on the Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives will be accepted from May 26, 2016 through June 24, 2016 at 5:00 PM. Comments may also be faxed to DEC at (907)451-2155 or emailed to robert.burgess@alaska.gov. It is the responsibility of the commenter to verify facsimile and email submissions are received by the deadline. A public meeting to discuss the Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives will be held at the Community Hall in Ruby on the evening of June 16, from 4-6 PM.
