Butrovich Control Valve Upgrade
Invitation for Bids Number 0452016, Project Number D15083 BUCV

Sealed bids, in single copy, for the Butrovich Control Valve Upgrade project will be received by the University of Alaska, Office of Division of Design and Construction until Tuesday, 2:00 p.m., May 3, 2016, at the Office of Division of Design and Construction, 590 University Avenue, 2nd Floor, Fairbanks, Alaska, at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

The work consists primarily of replacing approximately 151 heating control valves with Pressure Independent Control Valves (PICV) on heating terminal units.  Also, most gate valves (3-inch and less), air vents, drain valves, and miscellaneous piping specialties throughout the building heating system will be replaced with some minor piping modifications.  Numerous balancing valves and expansion joints will also be removed without replacement. 

Bidders are advised that the University of Alaska has a procedure for accepting alternate products or systems prior to bid opening.  Acceptance of substitutions after award is limited.  See Instructions to Bidders and the General Conditions.

A pre-bid conference will be held on April 19, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at the Office of Division of Design and Construction, University of Alaska, 590 University Avenue, 2nd Floor, Fairbanks, Alaska.

Bid security is required to be submitted with each bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. State law requires a bid to be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible "Alaska Bidder" after a five percent (5%) preference and Alaska Products Preference have been applied.  Further instructions are contained within the Invitation for Bids.
