The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) has determined that the permit application, submitted by the City of Chignik for a Class III Community Landfill in Chignik, Alaska, is complete. ADEC proposes to issue Solid Waste Disposal Permit No. SW3A147-20, to the City of Chignik, to operate the existing Class III Municipal Solid Waste Landfill.

LOCATION: The Chignik Landfill is accessible by road and located northwest of the community of Chignik, and west of Chignik airport within Section 12, Township 45 South, Range 59 West, Seward Meridian.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The landfill will serve the approximately 92 residents of Chignik. It is estimated that the community will produce approximately 84 tons of solid waste per year. The half-acre site includes solid waste disposal cells, a salvage area, and a septage lagoon.
