The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) has determined that the permit application, submitted by the Merrell Bros., Inc., for land application of biosolids on hayfields in Wasilla, Alaska, is complete.  ADEC is proposing to issue Solid Waste Permit #SWZA069-20 to Merrell Bros., Inc. for land application of biosolids.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: 

Location: The proposed property is in Hobbs Haven subdivision, Tracts 14-A, 14-B, and 14-C.  It includes 500 acres located approximately 9 miles northwest of the Port MacKenzie, south of Holstein Ave., and west of Guernsey Road, within Sections 24 and 25 of Township 15 North, Range 5 West, Seward Meridian. 

The applicant proposes land application of treated biosolids as a fertilizer on fields used for hay production.
