ADL 420298, Catherine Calicutt, Notice of Application for Private Easement for Bridge Across Piledriver Slough

The DNR, DMLW, Northern Region Lands Section has received a private easement application from Catherine Calicutt for a bridge across Piledriver Slough near Salcha, Alaska. The applicant has requested an easement 60 feet wide and 60 feet in length, comprising approximately .082 acres.

LOCATION:

The requested easement is located near Salcha, approximately one-half mile southwest of the Richardson Highway near milepost 333, at 6435 Old Richardson Highway. The purpose of the easement would be to provide vehicular access across state submerged lands of a branch of Piledriver Slough for the private owner of the surrounding upland parcel.

Section 12, Township 4 South, Range 3 East, Fairbanks Meridian

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The applicant has requested an easement to accommodate a two-lane bridge, approximately 42 feet in length, 14 feet wide, and 3.5 feet thick. The bridge previously spanned Piledriver Slough at Bradbury Lane during construction of the Tanana River Bridge (see LAS 27964). The applicant has estimated that the low chord of the bridge would be at an elevation of 583.5 feet, and that the current ordinary high water mark of the slough is 580.8 feet. The applicant has indicated that the project will entail the placement of approximately 31 cubic yards of fill, and that she has applied for both an Alaska Department of Fish & Game Habitat permit, as well as a United States Army Corps of Engineers’ permit.
