The Governor's Council on Disabilities and Special Education will be holding a public meeting October 1-2 at the Special Olympics of Alaska Sports Training Complex, 3200 Mountain View Drive, Anchorage, AK 99501. On Wednesday, Oct 1 and Thursday, Oct 2, from 8:30 AM-5 PM, the Council Board will hold its regular business meeting.

From 6:30-8pm on Wednesday October 1, the Council will hold a community gathering to provide public comment on disability-related issues and to meet Council members. In particular, the Council is interested in hearing from the public on issues related to housing for persons with disabilities.

This portion of the meeting will be teleconferenced statewide. The public is invited to call 1-866-356-1755 and enter code 3258 482 953 #. Once connected, announce yourself, and Council staff will put you in order to speak. As a courtesy to all who are trying to listen to public testimony, we ask that people mute their phones until it is their turn to speak. In order to allow as many people to testify who wish to, Individuals are limited to speaking for 3 minutes, and Council members may ask clarifying questions afterwards.
