How you can participate:
This project is being reviewed for consistency with the Alaska Coastal
Management Program. Your comments on the proposed project’s consistency must be
submitted in writing to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G),
Division of Habitat. Comments about inconsistency must identify the relevant
enforceable policy and explain how the project is not consistent with that
policy.

Project Description:
Delta Western, Inc. proposes to replace an existing pile supported fuel dock on
the Naknek River. The existing dock is 50 years old and sustained damage in a
2009 storm event. The new dock will follow the footprint of the existing dock
(168’ long by 24’ wide with 24’ wide by 144’ long T-section at the end). The
slope of the proposed dock and the dock’s elevation above the mud line will
match that of the existing dock. The proposed dock will be framed with heavy
timber members, supported by approximately 220 timber piles.

For your information:
The Naknek River (Anadromous Stream Catalog Number 324-20-10140) has been
cataloged as being important for the migration, spawning, or rearing of
anadromous fish pursuant to AS 16.05.871(a). Chinook, coho, sockeye, pink, and
chum salmon, as well as Dolly Varden and arctic char, are known to use the
Naknek River.
