Notice Of Public Meeting For The Mat Valley Fish & Game Advisory Committee

The Matanuska Valley Fish & Game Advisory Committee will meet Wednesday,
December 17th, from 7-10 p.m. at the MTA building in Palmer, at 480 Commercial
Drive. Preparation of comments on proposals for the Board of Fisheries
Southeast and Yakutat Shellfish will be discussed. Also, the Assistant Director
of the ADF&G’s Subsistence Division, Marianne See, will explain the recent
Board of Fish actions restricting more Alaska waters to subsistence use only.
The public is encouraged to attend and participate. For more information

Advisory committees are local groups that meet to discuss fishing and hunting
issues and to provide recommendations to Alaska Board of Fisheries and Alaska
Board of Game. Advisory Committees are intended to provide a local forum on
fish and wildlife issues. Their purpose includes: 1) developing regulatory
proposals, 2) evaluating regulatory proposals and making recommendations to the
appropriate board, 3) providing a local forum for fish and wildlife
conservation and use, including matters relating to habitat, 4) advising the
appropriate regional council on resources, and 5) consulting with individuals,
organizations, and agencies.
